2025 was a busy year! In fact, it might be one of the busiest hobby years of my life. Here are the stats…
Games played
I started out the year posting pictures of games, but as you will see, that didn’t really scale. So if you want to see those, follow me on Bluesky.
Legions Imperialis: 20
This includes the 5 games I played during A Sector Ablaze at Warhammer World. That averages to more than one game every three weeks!
BattleTech (including Alpha Strike): 11
This included the 3-game Chaos Campaign which was spread out over about 6 or 7 sessions, and my first games of Alpha Strike.
Other games
- Space Hulk (3 games): SH is the perfect casual game for when I don’t have the time to prepare for a more involved game.
- X-Wing (1 game): another perfectly-formed casual game. We have stuck to the First Edition of the rules which work fine, it’s just a shame that it’s now quite hard to get hold of the models. 3D Printer goes brrr…
Total games played: 36
I would say that’s a pretty decent number!
Miniatures painted
I didn’t manage to finish as many minis I did in 2024, but I still a got decent amount done, including:
- 4x Cerberus tanks
- 1x Dire Wolf titan
- 1x Reaver titan
- 1x Warhound titan
- Many Dark Mechanicum Battle Automata
- Vulkan He’stan
- 6x Xiphons
- 2x Fire Raptors
- 2x Forward Operating Bases
- Many Wound and shield counters
- 12x Dark Mechanicum Stalker Constructs
- 9x BattleTech ‘mechs
- 4x Spartans
- 4x Kratos
Total minis finished: 84
My plans for 2026
- Trying out Voidfighter, which was a Christmas gift;
- Expanding the Dark Mechanicum (which unfortunately means building more super-fiddly battle automata);
- Building a new Iron Warriors force, based around Saturnine terminators and dreadnoughts, for Legions Imperialis;
- Building a new mercenary force for BattleTech, and playing some more Alpha Strike as well as CBT;
- Running Legions events at local wargaming shows.
Onwards and upwards!
